Out of 22 swimmers swimming at this meet we achieved 7 gold (plus 2 x 4 relay team golds in the 11-12 year age groups, total 15), 3 silver medals, 8 bronze medals and at least 6 x 4th place swimmers. Laura McBain, with her tally of 3 golds and 2 silver was voted best 11 year old girl. A runner up in our opinion was Erin Hardy who swam well to gain 2 ind bronze, 2 team golds and 3 x 4th places. We were unfortunate not to return to PASC with the Trophy. Thanks as always go to the marshalls, coaches and officials who turn up to support these meets.

Between Chris McColm in the 8-10 age group and Raquel Matos in the 11-12 ag we won almost every achievable swim. This meet was for prize money so we have some very rich swimmers! The calibre of swimmers was high attracting swimmers GB wide.
Chris McColm won 50 Fly, back, and free, 100 Free and back, 100 IM. He was 2nd in100 breast and fly, and he got third in 50 Breast. Brilliant, outstanding swimming. Chris was also awarded the Best Boy of the Meet. Well done Chris.
Raquel Matos won the 50 breast, back, free, and of course the fly, 100 free and  200 IM. Her 100 IM was a new ED record. Incredible swimming.
In the same age group as Raquel was Katie Feather who was 2nd in the 50 breast, back and 100 breast: 3rd in the50 Free and Bfly, 100 Fly and 200 breast and IM: 4th in the 100 free. Well done Katie, quite an achievement over many strokes.
Rory Watt swam a few 4ths but eventually got a place in the last swim of Saturday with a 3rd place in the 100 IM.
They were joined in this high profile gala by Keri Greig and Robyn Gallacher. Excellent swimming .

16 East District relay records were set or broken over the course of the gala
The format is one which will definitely be picked up in future years by more clubs. 1 day to break so many records between Portobello, Teviotdale and Glenrothes…sure to get more Clubs next year. The mixed 400(8 x 50) freestyle relay was the most exciting and the noise from the support was tremendous
